Leonard Bernstein's lovely overture to "Candide", Aaron Copland's stirring Symphony No. 3 and a world-premiere work by Pulitzer Prize nominee Andrew Norman bring a distinctly American flavor to the latest performance by Music Director and Maestro Ludovic Morlot and the Seattle Symphony. In fact, Bernstein himself conducted one of the best known recordings of Copland's Third, which includes the goosebump-inducing "Fanfare for the Common Man". And acclaimed cellist Johannes Moser, the winner of several prestigious prizes and the music director of the 2017 Laguna Beach Music Festival, joins the festivities at Benaroya Hall for the debut of Norman's exciting new cello concerto.
