Commissioned and premiered by the Seattle Symphony, John Luther Adams' "Become Ocean" not only went on to win the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Music and the 2015 Grammy Award for Best Classical Contemporary Composition, but inspired Taylor Swift to donate $50k to the orchestra. Now, Adams is back at Benaroya Hall with the world premiere of the much-anticipated sequel, "Become Desert". Music Director and Maestro Ludovic Morlot conducts the symphony and chorale for this performance, which also includes the orchestra's 2017-2018 Featured Artist Jeremy Denk -- who "The New York Times" hails as someone "you want to hear no matter what he performs." In this case, the acclaimed pianist will take on one of the greats: Beethoven's "Emperor" Concerto.
