Hello Planet

Hello Planet is a 5-piece, female fronted band, based out of Houston, Texas. In a city where Rock and Metal reign, this band brings a new, refreshing sound with their blend of pop and rock. Their lead singer, Val Palmer, originally from Oklahoma, with her background in Country, Rock and Pop, creates a style and sound unique to most. Her voice coupled with the clever, delay-generated notes and eccentric sounds, provided by lead guitarist, Daniel Han of Los Angeles, create a melodically robust and harmonic sound, proving to be catchy and addicting! With his subtle peppering of mutated, chucking notes, strategically placed in-between gaps of the other instruments, Ronald Rincon, on Rhythm guitar, provides the groove of the music leaving the melodies to the lead. On drums, Travis Romine, attacks their sound with his full and punchy beats. Keeping the energy elevated to the max with his crafty timing and tasteful fills, surprising listeners with his layered and textured grooves. In late 2015, after just coming off a Rock project, members Val and Ronald, decided to take their music in a new direction. Long-time friend Daniel, had been performing with a band in LA since 2010, and was moving back to Houston. Only days after returning to his home town, a band was in the making. After a few months of writing, a fourth member was discovered in the young but talented drummer, Travis. Coming from the church circuit, he had more experience than most young drummers and his itch to grow his talent and explore his writing skills, was exactly what the band needed to take off. It didn’t take long before the four founding members were taking Houston by storm. Booking their first show at the historic Fitzgerald’s, Hello Planet caught the attention of local venues, quickly booking shows for national touring acts, such as, Alien Ant Farm, Everclear and Lacey Sturm (formerly of Flyleaf). Where Hello Planet really shines, is in their live performances and their ability to make and retain friendships with fans and strong business relationships with local venue owners. On stage, choosing to omit the glitz and glam and push raw, energetic performances, Hello Planet captivates audiences with ease. Off stage, their approachability and interaction with fans makes them a desirable band to know and follow. Unlike the traditional route of putting out EPs and LPs, Hello Planet has decided to periodically release free singles, giving fans something exciting, more often. In the near future the band will release its first music video and continue to grow their social media presence, while preparing for festivals and the possibility of branching out with regional tours.
