The Local Pyramid Biography
The story of The Local Pyramid begins at a small church in the heart of Richmond, Virginia. Two guys managed to find each other via the World Wide Web, and came together one night to combine ideas.
It didn’t take long for them to conclude that they had stumbled upon something special in finding each other, and both individuals knew immediately that this collaboration was the answer both of them had been looking for. No more than a couple of weeks after meeting, the pair sat in that church building and reveled over the idea of being a “local wonder” – something like the Taj Mahal or Stonehenge. They wanted to be identified as something that people would unexplainably drawn to – a unique and enchanting presence, aweing and motivating others by simply being. With this concept in mind, the pair hardly had to brainstorm before one name manifested itself naturally -- thus, creating The Local Pyramid.
While being fairly new to the music scene, the pair has managed to gain the attention of many. Internet and live crowds alike have responded positively to their energetic, soulful, and multifarious blend of the genres from which they pull the most influence (including alternative, hip hop, pop, and many others) – a hybrid that they dub “Alternative HipPop.” Between Scott Poe’s vicious production of hip hop influenced music combined with Jason Nesmith’s articulate, witty, and insightful writing style, The Local Pyramid generates a distinct sound that they pride on being “unapologetically in your face.”
The duo-band released their debut EP titled, “Q-LC” in September of 2016, and is currently working on their second EP which will be released in set to be released mid-2017.
