About this concert
The acclaimed Australian alt-rock band Midnight Oil lights up the Greek on their first visit to the U.S. in 15 years as part of their "The Great Circle" world tour. One of the best-selling groups ever to come from Down Under, they're famed for their huge social-justice hits "Beds Are Burning," "Blue Sky Mine" and "Power and The Passion" -- and for the charismatic performances from frontman Peter Garrett. The Oils went their separate ways in 2002, and Garrett went on to become a successful national politician and environmental minister. Their L.A. show under the stars is set to feature openers The Living End and The Smith Street Band.

Third Oils gig this year for me and this was the best so far. Although Wednesday night might top it, and the final at the Horden in Sydney hopefully ices the cake. Was a great set list on this night and a rousing call for an encore was rewarded. Oiiiiiiiaaaaaalllzzzzz.
