There's a new wave of Afro-Cuban jazz hitting the States, and a trio of its most talented artists are taking the stage at VPAC in Northridge for a jam that'll no doubt prove the genre's in excellent hands. NPR calls Havana-born singer Dayme Arocena "a cross between Celia Cruz and Aretha Franklin," while "The New York Times" has dubbed Roberto Fonseca "a charismatic spark plug of a pianist." And Grammy-nominated percussionist-singer Pedrito Martinez is an award-winning drummer who's worked with greats like Wynton Marsalis, Sting and Bruce Springsteen and released two highly-acclaimed albums as the leader of his own quartet. To make your night as fun and stress-free as possible, parking is included with your ticket.

A lot of energy on stage. The talented young band clearly enjoyed themselves. Jazzy salsa, mambo and Cuban soul. Dayme created a joyful ambiance in a causy setting. Her voice is magnificently mature. Looking forward to the next performance of this rising star.
