Amy Estrada Biography

Amy was born and raised on the beautiful Central Coast of California, and fell in love with country music from a young age. Living on a small farm, showing horses, and enjoying country living allowed her to develop solid roots, and to realize her passion for music. She explains, "My parents listened to all types of music, but their favorite was country. We listened to Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, EmmyLou Harris, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, The Judds, Alan Jackson, Vince Gil....the list goes on. So naturally, I fell in love with it. My mom sang to me all the time as a little girl, and as I got older I sang with her. She is the one who actually taught me how to sing The National Anthem, which is a tough song to sing especially when you are just a kid."  Amy began performing infront of large audiences at the age of 10 when she was enlisted by her hometown country radio station after they discovered her level of talent for her age, to sing The National Anthem for the Cal Poly Rodeo, which eventually led to even bigger stages, singing The Anthem for Steely Dan at the California Mid State Fair. Over the years, Amy has had the opportunity to open for some major country artists and songwriters: Lee Brice, Danielle Peck, Tyler Farr, Anthony Smith "Run" George Strait, Sarah Buxton "Stupid Boy" Keith Urban, Chris Wallin "Don't Blink" Kenny Chesney, Lisa Carver "Everyday America" Sugarland, just to name a few. Living in wine country on the Central Coast also allowed Amy to play some of the most beautiful and well known wineries and wine bars in the region, introducing them and their visitors to her music. Many of the wineries only booked artists/bands that played cover songs, but once they listened to Amy's songs, she became more known for her own music than playing covers. In that time she made many new connections and fans, who still follow her on her musical journey to this day. She has been living in Nashville, TN for over 4 years, where she has been working, writing, and playing non stop. She just released her highly anticipated EP "Wildflowers and Whiskey" recorded at the historic RCA Studio A in Nashville, TN. "When pre production of the record began, and I was asked questions like: "What type of feel do you want the record to have? What instruments do you want on which songs? Etc. I knew that I wanted steel guitar, dobro, mandolin, and I wanted "feeling". I wanted people to feel these songs, the way I felt when I wrote them, and I want listeners to connect.  I know the impact music has had on me, and how a song can evoke so much emotion. That's what I want my fans and listeners to experience. Whether you smile, cry, or are reminded of someone you love, or someone from your past...The songs take you on a musical ride from beginning to end" says Amy. This record reveals Amy's depth as a songwriter, with lyrically driven songs and music that will leave you wanting more. Her unique style of Country/Americana is the perfect combination of country new and old. Download "Wildflowers and Whiskey" on iTunes today! Singer/songwriter with a Country/Americana influence.
