"Tia McGraff, Described as having "a voice stolen from angels", Tia McGraff first stepped into the international spotlight on a CBC TV special with Johnny Cash and June Carter. Johnny was so impressed with Tia, he invited her into June's dressing room to introduce the two. Fast forward to 5 CD releases, 4 CMT videos, 15 years of main stage festivals and headline concert performances, and you have a singer/songwriter who has crafted a musical career that is respected and celebrated by thousands of fans and industry notables today. Tia McGraff was born and raised in the small Lake Erie town of Port Dover, ON, Canada, and grew up working on her family's 18 hole golf course. Second generation of Transylvanian descent, Tia was taught that hard work and big dreams must go hand in hand in order to succeed! After winning the Canadian Open Country Singing Contest at the age of 18, Tia left the local music theatre leading roles she had been starring, and entered into the world of the recording music industry. Johnny Cash wasn't the only one who recognized a shining star! Soon heavy weights like Randy Bachman (BTO), Dan Hill (Celine Dion), Andrew Gold, Mark Slaughter (Rock Band “Slaughter”), and countless others, were inviting Tia to write and record with them. Every songwriter's dream is to make it in Nashville, and Tia soon found herself moving there to further her passion and craft. It was in Music City, USA, that this Canadian songstress met Colorado native, Tommy Parham (Lee Greenwood's "Rocks You Can't Move, Ashley Judd's "Come Early Morning"). The two began collaborating and soon broke their rule of "never date a co-writer". Today they are married, write extensively, co-produce Tia's albums, and love touring together around the world performing their songs! In 2010, Tia McGraff recorded, Diversity, on their own label, Bandana Records, and within weeks of the album's release, received Country Recording of the Year at the Hamilton Music Awards, and broke the top 70 on the US based Americana Music Association charts. Last year, Tia and Tommy answered their fans numerous requests, and recorded a full length Christmas CD, Listen! It's Christmas!!! Tia also wrote a book to accompany the CD, and the combination won the hearts of her fans and audiences. Her Americana radio release, "Angels We Have Heard On High" was an instant radio add and once again broke country and Americana charts in the US.. In her ambitious and passionate nature, Tia McGraff has decided to make 2012 the year her fans have been waiting for! This year, Tia will release a new CD (now being penned), tour extensively, and share that "voice stolen from angels" with her thousands of beloved fans around the world!
