Myliam

Myliam is an American rock band from Houston, Texas, formed in 2016. Since its formation, the band has consisted of lead vocalist David Koteles, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Taylor Baker, bassist Jeremy Dusek and drummer Mitch Mackert. History Lead singer David Koteles born in Red Deer, Alberta Canada in 1989 moved to Houston Texas at 6 years old and met local Houstonian Taylor Baker at school where they became instant friends. David began his musical journey at a young age with training in piano, mandolin, harmonica, violin, guitar and multiple other instruments. His primary instrument remains piano to this day. Taylor began playing guitar, and instantly found his passion which he continues presently. Both taylor and David were heavily influenced by gospel, rock, blues, and even bluegrass genres at a young age. They also sang together for school choir for 4 years. Taylor went on to serve in the Army infantry and was deployed to Afghanistan before coming home and starting the band. Mitch Mackert began playing drums in school band and grew to have a progressive flair. Jeremy entered the band as a veteran performer having toured for years and played with several large acts before joining Myliam. The first songs recorded by Myliam were created by David and Taylor alone, before the band was created. "Stay", "Your Wish", and "How Clear I See" were written and created with the help of producer Curt Smith in 2015. Wanting to play full, live performances, David and Taylor began the search for a drummer and bassist. Mitch Mackert joined the band and can be heard in drum tracks for "With you Tonight", "Time to Pay", "Lullaby", and "Don't Let Go". Shortly after these tracks were recorded Jeremy Dusek joined the band and live performances began in 2016. Bringing in large crowds at local venues around Houston, Myliam is currently creating new material for their upcoming album and building up the local fan base. Musical style With epic super-choruses, dynamic power ballads and pounding rhythms there is something for everyone in Myliams' music. Lead singer David Koteles brings everything from clean vocals to rebel yells with Taylor baker supplying background vocals. Taylor can be seen using driving riffs, blues and metal solos, with Jeremy bringing the low end for a strong metal influenced bass line.
