Jeremy Lappitt Music Biography

Saxophonist, clarinetist and flutist Jeremy Lappitt is from Tucson, Arizona. He achieved his Bachelors Degree in Jazz Performance from Arizona State University. During his time at ASU, Lappitt received the prestigious Special Talent Award and JazzBird scholarships. He studied under the direction of pianist Michael Kocour and Sam Pilafian, along with associated ASU jazz faculty. In 2010, Jeremy was awarded a DownBeat Jazz Magazine award in the category of Best Jazz Arrangement for “Um Segundo”. Later in the year, Lappitt was selected as Lead Alto in the 2010 Disneyland All-American College Band. He’s performed various musicals including “White Christmas”, “Company”, “Do I Hear a Waltz”, “Bye Bye Birdie” “The Full Monty” and many more.

Upon relocating to Los Angeles in 2012, Jeremy has performed or recorded with Benny Golson, Jeff Coffin, David Liebman, Bob Sheppard, Doug Webb, Dan Higgins, Greg Huckins, Wayne Bergeron, Andy Martin, Carl Saunders, Ricky Woodard, Gary Foster, Gene Cipriano, Sal Lozano, Wycliffe Gordon, Bob Mintzer, Bobby Shew, Brice Winston, John Clayton, Steve Wilson, Roy McCurdy, and many more. He’s a member of orchestras, big bands and ensembles led by the GRAMMY Award Winning Brian Setzer Orchestra, Laura Dickinson, Elliot Deutsch, Frank Stallone, Pete Christlieb, Bill Holman, Steve Huffsteter, Peter Myers, Steve Spiegl, Tim Gill, Gary Herbig and ska big band Western Standard Time. Special performances and appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, NBC’s THE VOICE, Clint Eastwood’s “Jersey Boys”, Don Rickles, Hustler’s 40th Birthday Bash, Kris Jenner’s 60th Birthday Party and more.

In March of 2012, Disney once again requested Lappitt’s abilities. He was selected to play tenor saxophone, act and sing with “Five & Dime”, an atmosphere show at Disney California Adventure. Currently, Jeremy plays lead alto in the world famous Disneyland Band and tenor sax/clarinet with the Jambalaya Jazz and Royal Street Bachelors.
