Diégo Remes Biography

Diégo Remes was born in 1985 in Antwerp. Diégo has been fascinated by all kinds of music styles during his younger years. This is due to the musical values given to him by his family since the day he was born. As his father was playing guitar and bass guitar as a professional in a band and his brother piano as a hobby, Diégo started playing drums when he was 10 years old. He took weekly lessons and this way he quickly got used and addicted to rhythms and percussion.

A couple of years later Diégo started going out and decided to become active as a DJ. Back then he was deeply influenced by techno music and got inspired by legends such as Carl Cox, Technasia, Adam Beyer, Marco Bailey and Umek. Diégo was in love with the continuous rhythms and percussion of techno as he had played the drums for several years.

Later on, as a result of going out and experiencing with music in many ways, Diégo used to play harder styles under several alias names. He performed at major famous international festivals such as Nature One (GER), Laundry Day, Summerfestival, Sunrise Festival, The Qontinent, Love Parade (GER) and City Parade. He also played at many other big venues like Le Tremplin (FR), Mondial (NL), Metropolis (LUX), Hangar 1, Industria, Cherry Moon, Club Expodrome, Wex, Illusion, BBC, The Clubs, Bobbejaanland, Lotto Arena, Flanders' Expo and so on.

As time went on Diégo decided to leave the harder styles behind, to get back to his roots and to focus on the techno scene. The main reason of this choice must have been the several times he went to Ibiza where he really got inspired by several artists and famous concepts such as Cocoon, Circo Loco, Drumcode and Enter.

In 2011 Diégo got a summer residency on the roof of Antwerp’s biggest club Noxx. Things started going real good and further on he often played in other famous clubs like Petrol Club, La Rocca, Knokke-Out Brussels, Knokke-Out Knokke, Red & Blue, Piaf, Magic, Magiq Spiegeltent, and so on. He got booked for major festivals such as The Qontinent, Sunrise Festival, Weekend Magnifiek (Kempense Meren), Beachland and Deepsneeuw in La Plagne (FR).

In 2014 there's a first highlight, Diégo Remes got the honour to play at world's biggest festival Tomorrowland in Belgium.

These days Diégo Remes' style can be described as a mix of minimal and techno, with a little progressive touch. The sound can get a little melodic and hypnotic in some parts of his sets. It’s a continuous and energetic mix of pure quality sounds.
