Rite of Venus Biography
Rite of Venus is a roots rock trio based in the land of funk, Dayton, Ohio. Comprised of Gary "Guitar" Williams. Jennifer Taylor on bass, and Adam Bryant on drums, the group draws inspiration from Buddy Guy, Sly and the Family Stone, Etta James, Hall & Oates, Muddy Waters, George Clinton, Bill Withers, and Traffic.
Gary Williams has been playing the blues across North America for over 30 years. His musical lineage includes Snapper Mitchum and the Blues Invaders, Blues Unit, and more recently, Back Talk Blues Band featuring Gary "Guitar" Williams. Gary is registered with Broadcast Music, Inc.
Hailing from Houston, Texas, the home of Albert Collins and Lightning' Hopkins, Jennifer Taylor brings a funky groove to Rite of Venus. She has a long background in vocal performance and takes her bass cues from the likes of John McVie, Phil Lynott, and Leroy Taylor.
Since 1994, drummer Adam Bee has been playing guitar, bass, drums, and singing in rock and punk projects based out of Tallahassee, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Cheyenne, Sacramento, Biloxi, and now Dayton, where he calls home. He released three studio albums as a singer / bass player with Sam At Eleven: "No Less Impressive" (2007), "The Year We Won" (2011), and "Holy Hell" (2013). He also released a solo album, "Sevens and Elevens" (2013), and a punk album with The Goots: "We Are The Goots" (1996). He is a member of ASCAP.
