WRITING AND COMPOSITION: Composed music and lyrics for “I Musta’ Been Dreamin’” on “Movin’ On”. Wrote lyrics for songs composed by world renowned Jazz pianist, John Hicks. Wrote music and lyrics for one song in the her one-woman show, “Dorothy Parker Turns Forty,” for which the rest of the music was composed by Lawrence Rosen. Compiled and contributed some writing for book of “Dorothy Parker Turns Forty,” based mostly on the writing of Dorothy Parker.
Co-composing and writing songs for upcoming Gospel CD with Colon Haywood, Jr.

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts Degrees, State University of New York at Albany, in Theatre and Studio Art. Master of Fine Arts Degree, Temple University, Professional Actors’ Training Program.
AWARDS: Carbonell Award, Best Supporting Actress in a Musical, “City of Angels,” Jupiter Theatre, dual role of Gabby/Bobby. International Association of Jazz Educators' Excellence in Musicianship Award.

Bertilla has sung with some of the top artists in Jazz and Pop including: Bill Evans, John Hicks, Walter Booker, Jimmy Hart, Patti LaBelle, Vanessa Williams, Stephanie Mills, and Evelyn Champagne King. She has lead bands throughout the Northeast, in the Caribbean, on the Cruise Ship S.S. Veendam, and in Morocco at one of the Royal Palaces for the king's New Years' Eve party. Her CD, "Movin’ On" has been released on CD Baby, and is available for download on Amazon and Itunes and CD Baby where hard copies are also available.

Bertilla has been a soloist with the Broadway Inspirational Voices for the past 15 years. BIV is comprised of singers from Broadway shows as well as recording artists. For three years, she directed Voices of
