About this concert
SASKIA MAXWELL is a young Cornish singer who is well-known on the South West music scene; an enigmatic and captivating singer songwriter, who's eclectic style mixes jazz and folk.Saskia has gigged prolifically from the age of 14, and has already performed close to 500 shows in the UK alone, supporting the likes of Rae Morris, JP Cooper, Nick Harper, Rachel Sermanni and Mark Morriss of the Bluetones. Radio stations have also been quick to recognise her both as a live and recording artist. Her most recent release "Dancing with the Night" is an EP comprised of songs she put together in Bristol. Unrequited love, obsession, various encounters and experiences are expressed over jazz style waltzes and beautifully constructed arrangements.“Absolutely outstanding. Eleanor VS. Biography

Eleanor VS. (pronounced "verses") is a singer-songwriter and musician from Bristol. A lover of all types of music, her own style is a mixture of jazz, folk and soul. Built around sincere accounts of personal experiences, her compositions are carefully crafted and her voice sweet and defined.

In 2014 she released her first album ‘Passivity’ (under previous name Vanessa Hartley-McDonald), a collection of songs prompted and inspired by her decision to pursue her musical dream. The mellow acoustic record features the jaunty, tongue-in-cheek fan-favourite "Trying & Failing", and the moving, confessional theme "Black Hole".

In 2016 Rife Magazine named Eleanor VS. as one of Bristol's "Top Five Women In Music".

Currently she is working on new material which she plans to release in the future.

"The best music isn’t always the loudest and Eleanor VS makes the case for quietly wowing you. Her sultry and astoundingly smooth voice weaves words in the way that only folk musicians can." - Grace Shutti, Rife Magazine

"She has a real humbleness and sincerity that shine out through her music. Above all it’s her voice and amazing control of it that stick in my head. This is definitely one to see live." - Emily Gibbard, Emily on the Hill
