Kiera Osment Biography

Kiera Osment, who hales from Devon has been compared to the likes of Kate Bush, Regina Spekor, Tori Amos and Lana Del Rey.

Born in 2000 and home educated, Kiera from a young age has had a passion for music. That may have come from being blasted anything from Toms Waits to Bjork onto her mothers stomach when she was in the womb.

She was drawn to the piano early on in her life. Given her first keyboard at six, then went on to learn classical piano at nine and achieving grade 8 at thirteen. At this time other instruments started to capture her interest, which included the guitar and cello.

Songwriting is Kiera's greatest joy, drawing on many experiences from life, the world around her and her interest in reading to write poignant songs full of metaphors and puzzles.

The strength and emotion of Kiera’s voice came has a surprise to Kiera and her family. Singing wasn’t something Kiera set out to do, but the written songs and poems had to be sung. Kiera's voice is now a very important part of her musical identity.

In 2016 Kiera wrote, recorded, produced and mixed her very own debut album, which was brought alive in her sitting room over a couple of weeks during August 2016. Kiera writes constantly and has written over 150 songs and hopes many more will arise in the future. She is currently working on new material for a new album.

In recent times Kiera has supported Miles Hunt and Erica Nockalls, Clare Teal, Eleanor McEvoy, Edwina Hayes, Kast Off Kinks, Kevin Mark Trail and Wildwood Kin.  In 2013 she was on the longlist for Glastonbury’s Emerging talent completion.
