Zestrah Biography

Zestrah is a North Carolina based hard rock band. Zestrah's heavy sound, along with catchy lyrics, relate to younger generations all the way to older rockers that miss the 70's-80's style rock & roll. The band was started in late 2012, when Curly and former lead vocalist Dalton Bowes contacted each other through an ad in the classifieds. Next to join the group was lead guitarist Ky Wolfe, whose style helped influence the bands sound. Zestrah played their first string of shows with various bass players, searching for the right fit. In early 2013 Eric Jenness was brought to the band and his attitude and look was immediately accepted by the other guys. He adopted the name Eric Dangerously and became a part of a heavy rhythm section, along side drummer and founding member Curly.
In 2015, Zestrah finished their self-titled demo, shared the stage with many well known local and national touring acts, and embarked on their first tour. As 2016 came around, the band had to part ways with vocalist Dalton Bowes. Lead guitarist Ky Wolfe had been in a previous band with current vocalist, Mahlon Dobbins, before convincing him to join Zestrah. Adding Mahlon to the line up gave Zestrah a fuller and heavier sound without taking away from the style the band already made for themselves.
The bands music and lyrics are mainly focused on the daily struggles and personal problems in the lives of close friends or of themselves. The songs that capture the energy of their sound the most are a few of their originals such as, Kwik Fixx, Something to believe in, and Slave to the Money. Keep an eye out for Zestrah, big things are to come!
