Robisto Biography

Robin “Robisto” van der Heiden started his career in music in late 2013.
He discovered a few talented DJs in his inner circle, who were not able to present themselves in the right way, which resulted in founding “Robin’s Agency”. Being convinced by the motto “You can’t represent/sell what you don’t master yourself”, Robin started to learn the craft of DJing himself. Slowly, the artists in his agency noticed the development of his skills and convinced him to start publishing mixtapes, which resulted in the creation of “Robisto”.
The name “Robisto” is a combination of the name “Robin” and a character from Robin’s favorite book “Faust Teil 1” written by J.W. Von Goethe namely “Mephisto”. Mephisto, in the book represents the devil or better said, the seducer for the main character. Combining those elements represent the musical perspective of Robisto, since the sets Robisto produces are intended to seduce the crowd into letting go of their worries and simply enjoy the moment on the dancefloor. His musical style can best be described as Melodic Techno with a very heavy and steady bassline. Starting his sets more melodic and ending with powerful and deep sounds, represents the progress of the crowd during one of his sets. The crowd is literally seduced into moving to the melodic sounds and finally finds themselves completely letting loose of their worries and living in the moment.
Robisto appeared for the first time in Montreal, Canada, where he was able to play two gigs in Club Hardwax and Bar Monsieur. Both venues were sold out and the feedback was overwhelming.
In addition to his successful appearances in Montreal this year in August, Robisto released his first track on “Build It Records” in collaboration with his good friends “Lex & Wood” in December 2015.
Over the past year, Robisto developed the necessary skillset to turn any event into an unforgettable experience and his unique combination of melodic and deep sounds found the likes of many around the globe.
Robisto is definitely a “one to watch” for the next year, as more performances and productions will follow.
