Four Skin Biography

Hailing from the scorching streets and desert skies of Tempe, AZ, the metal quartet, Four Skin, boosts ample allusions of edgy guitars, subsonic bass tones, sophisticated drums and a well balanced register of vocal energy.

Founded in the summer of 2002 by the brothers Blackwater, Jeremy and Josh began their trek of revealing their music to the masses. The journey entailed relocating from Farmington, NM to sunny Tempe, AZ. As the band puts it, “Farmington was a small town with no solid music scene and at the time it couldn’t even support a semi national act coming through.” The move was a must to expand fan base and increase performing opportunity. During January of 2003, the band said ‘good bye’ to Farmington and said ‘Hello’ to Tempe.

Four Skin has remained resilient and has seen multiple personnel changes with Bass and Drums. The bands response to this inquiry is, “Relationships in general are challenging. With musicians there is another realm that must be acknowledged and understood. If this realm can remain cohesive and respectful –then you have a chance at success and creating something beautiful.” With this being said, the band now has stability in the rhythm section with the addition of Drummer, John Bishop, who joined the group in September, 2013. New musician, Jacob Dyslin has been added to the roster in the bass chair.

Four Skin has maintained their course, delivering a blend of earth grinding guitars with energetic leads. The bass lines can be described as fluent waves, welding the sound of a robust yet meticulously crafted rhythm. The vocals are dynamic and blissful, with true and honest lyrics –leaving the listener intellectually guessing. One must wonder where the roots of inspiration stem, the band’s response, “Family and Friends…”
