Young Flowers

Eksperimenterende rockgruppe dannet i sommeren 1967 af Jens Dahl (guitar), Peter Ingemann (bas og vokal) og Ken Gudman (trommer). Debuterede i september samme år, og indspillede singlen 'Like Birds/City Of Friends'. Ved udgangen af 1967 erstattedes Jens Dahl af Peer Frost, og gruppen opnåede i løbet af 1968 en væsentlig popularitet, bl.a. gennem medvirken i Thomas Windings TV-serie 'Blomsterpistolen'. Vakte tillige opmærksomhed med danske tekster, som f.eks. på nummeret 'Oppe I Træet'. Af gruppens betydning for det danske musikmiljø var bl.a. dens anvendelse af gæstemusikere, bl.a. Bent Hesselmann, Lasse Lunderskov, Lars Bisgaard, Peter Mandorf, Peter Thorup, Steen Claësson og Niels Skousen, sidstnævnte var desuden co-skriver af en del af gruppens materiale. Skrev i 1968 musik til Hans-Erik Philips kortfilm 'Cæcilie', og i 1969 til Jens Jørgen Thorsens film 'Stille Dage I Clichy' (Quiet Days In Clichy). Gruppen fik gennem sin oprindelige eksperimenterende form, introduktionen af dansksprogede sange, og den senere løsere struktur en væsentlig betydning for udviklingen af dansk rockmusik. Made their debut in September that year, and recorded the single 'Like Birds/City Of Friends'. By the end of 1967 Jens Dahl was replaced by Peer Frost, and the band achieved during 1968 a considerable popularity, particularly through participation in Thomas Winding's TV series 'Blomsterpistolen' (The Flower Pistol). Also attracted attention with Danish lyrics, e.g. on the track 'Oppe I Træet'. The band's importance for the Danish music scene was partly its use of guest musicians including Bent Hesselmann, Lasse Lunderskov, Lars Bisgaard, Peter Mandorf, Peter Thorup, Steen Claësson and Niels Skousen, the latter was also co-writer of some of the band's material. Wrote in 1968 music for Hans-Erik Philip's short film 'Cæcilie', and in 1969 for Jens Jørgen Thorsen's film 'Quiet Days In Clichy'. The band got through its original experimental form, the introduction of the Danish language songs and the later looser structure, a significant impact on the development of Danish rock music. Toured as the first Danish rock band in the spring of 1969 in Canada and the USA. Was dissolved in the spring of 1970.
