Valentina Blu

Brooklyn based singer, songwriter, and producer Valentina Blú traveled extensively from a very young age, and while living and exploring diverse cultural and musical traditions, she found her voice in melting-pop , a fusion of electronic sounds and pop music with elements from Latin America and the Mediterranean.

Inspired equally by traditional music as well as pop and r’n’b, her musical influences span from Erykah Badu, to Grimes, Buika, Pino Daniele, Nina Simone, Bomba Estéreo, Umm Kulthum, and Jorge Drexler.

In 2016, her self-released single Another Sky won an Independent Music Award for Best World Beat song, while the following year, that same song was awarded the Lennon Award at the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the World category.

2018 marked the release of five songs in five months written and produced alongside Dominican collaborator Fernando Faneyte, featuring Alissia on bass and Yasser Tejeda & Palotre on guitar.

Blú’s upcoming single “Sono Io” will be released on May 20th 2020 - a rhythm driven multilingual song featuring acclaimed fusion artist and producer The Spy From Cairo on oud.
