He has a bunch of songs that fly hair in the breeze through an imaginary desert like Kevin Rowland on Earl Scruggs' horse, with a riproaring banjo-fuelled rhythm and lyricism. He's the Darren Hayman of bluegrass for the post-Peel generation, a feral, uncharted spirit with musical wonder in his veins.
