Galvarino Biography

No frills. No apologies. Swords blazing. Remember that sharp burn in your lungs the first time you inhaled a knobby joint while your parents weren’t home? Or the cold air blasting your face the first time you rode a motorcycle? Remember how wild and reckless you felt, but also how in the moment and oddly clear? Galvarino is a hard rock, Americana power trio that puts out honest rock ‘n roll conceived to bring back that same sense of abandon, no matter who you are, no matter what your station in life. Named after a Mapuche warrior who strapped swords to his arms when the Spanish cut off his hands, the band rides straight through the emaciated deserts of indie rock, past the predictable palm trees of corporate pop, and all the way up to the jagged peaks of Rage Against the Machine, Queens of the Stone Age and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Galvarino is a rugged musical landscape. It will keep slicing away, hacking down layer after layer of bullshit until it finds its way into your brain. Don’t worry. It will. MORE ABOUT THE BAND... - Grady Righthand - lead vocals, guitar: The founding member of Galvarino, Righthand is a Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and guitarist originally from Marin County, California. As a member of The Bob Hill Band in high school, Grady was signed to independent record label Rogue Island Entertainment and played on the band’s debut LP, “The Golden Gate.” Grady graduated in Spring 2014 from the USC Thornton School of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Popular Music Performance with an emphasis in guitar. - Jack Dunn - drums: Born in Pasadena, Dunn started playing piano at the tender age of 5 and then switched to drums when, at age 11, he realized how much he liked hitting shit. Dunn went on to study drum performance at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. - Dusty Black - bass: Black was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. He started off playing violin at age 11, and didn’t defect to bass until he turned 16. Black majored in Music Industry at USC, and works as a live sound engineer when he’s not touring, sleeping, eating, brushing his teeth, sitting in L.A. traffic, etc... Galvarino is a CO based, Rock 'n' Roll band.
