Helmet se forme à New York en 1989 autour du guitariste et chanteur Page Hamilton, ex-Band of Susans ayant délaissé ses études en musicologie jazz. Avec Henry Bogdan (basse), l'Australien Peter Mengede (guitare) et John Stanier (batterie), Helmet sort des sentiers balisés du metal dès le premier EP Strap It On (1990), en proposant un style entre le post-punk de Killing Joke et le hardcore de Big Black. Signée chez Interscope en 1992, la formation publie l'album Meantime qui obtient un disque d'or. En 1993, après le départ de Peter Mengede, le trio s'associe à House of Pain pour un titre de la bande originale du film Judgment Night, « Just Another Victim ». Le deuxième opus, Betty (1994) est réalisé avec le guitariste Rob Echeverria. Si le succès critique est au rendez-vous, le public boude le disque pourtant original et novateur. L'année suivante sort la compilation de raretés et inédits Born Annoying. Le départ de Rob Echeverria chez Biohazard conduit Page Hamilton à régner en maître sur Interstate (1997). Une tournée avec Chris Traynor (Orange 9mm) ne suffit pas à relancer Helmet qui se saborde en 1999. Le leader charismatique joue alors les seconds couteaux derrière Nine Inch Nails ou David Bowie. Alors que les formations de nu-metal ont pris la place des anciens, Helmet renaît de ses cendres en octobre 2004 avec l'album Size Matters. La nouvelle formule comprend, outre Page Hamilton et Chris Traynor, le bassiste Frank Bello et le batteur John Tempesta. Pour Monochrome sorti en 2006, Hamilton et Traynor recrutent la paire rytmique Jeremy Chatelain et Mike Jost. Sans contredire le dicton voulant qu'Helmet ne sorte deux albums avec les mêmes musiciens, le groupe revient avec Dan Beeman et Kyle Stevenson pour Seeing Eye Dog sorti en août 2010. La tradition est respectée ensuite avec l'intégration de Dave Case comme bassiste. Cette arrivée précède l'album Dead to the World, qui se sera fait attendre six longues années.

Harmonic Generator Biography
Harmonic Generator is a heavy rock band from south France, who first released an EP in 2008 acclaimed on the web. One hundred more shows later, the band takes it to the next level with “When The Sun Goes Down”, an awaited and promising album, produced and recorded in Melbourne, Australia by Mark Opitz(AC/DC, INXS, Jimmy Barnes, Rose Tattoo, Jeff Lang…). Released in 2013 on Sonic Revolution (Germany), the album has been followed by two successful European tours, opening for Girlschool and Jeff Scott Soto. Their international potential is no longer to be proven. The five members, Renaud Satre(guitar), Nicolas Helinger(bass), Charles Roussel(guitar), Alexandre Roussel (drums) and Quentin Barthès-Villegas (lead vocals), form a rock outfit with many assets : sharp guitar riffs, tight groove, road worn shows, unique and catchy vocals, a really efficient rock. On stage, Harmonic Generator(name took from a hit song written by New-Zealand band The Datsuns, easing the buzz in Australia) takes all its meaning. Raging and intense shows, with always this « self-giving » attitude and great musical qualities paying respect to their many influences : Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver, The Datsuns, Soundgarden, AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin… With a baggage of more than 300 shows in 9 different territories, the band started a new project : the concept « Heart, Flesh, Skull, and Bones », 4 different EPs that will form a whole album. Recorded in Marseille by Julien Liphardand mixed by Logan Mader(Gojira, Dagoba…), this project is a complete immersion into the band’s universe through its many influences and experiences. The two firsts EPs "Heart" and "Flesh", were released in December 2014 and September 2015, with the singles "Lambs and Lions", "I feel fine", "Secret garden" and "I'll dance on your grave".
