Sarah Teets

Sarah Teets began singing at a very young age, along to her favorite Disney movies and cartoons. It took a few years for the idea of becoming a professional singer to really catch on with her, but when she realized singing was something she wanted to do, she originally wanted to be a country singer. In high school, Sarah developed many of her music skills, both in instrument music, by playing the flute, oboe, percussion and piano, as well as her vocal skills, participating in groups that sang at the White House, Disney World and the Capitol Building on Harrisburg, PA. She also took 4 years worth of music theory classes, which were more advanced than some college courses. Sarah got into rock and metal music around the age of 13, with bands like Aerosmith and Bon Jovi. This sparked her interest in the music, leading her to discover some of her favorite metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Tesla, W.A.S.P., Avantasia, etc. In high school, Sarah and her brother Jeff, as well as original MindMaze drummer Kalin Schweizerhof started playing music together in a band under the name Necromance. Necromance played dozens of shows in the Lehigh Valley, opening for notable metal acts such as Jon Oliva's Pain, Circle II Circle, Overkill, Doro and George Lynch. In 2012, when they were ready to begin a new chapter in playing music together, Sarah and Jeff decided to rename the band MindMaze prior to the release of their first professional album, Mask of Lies, which was released in February of 2013. Since then, MindMaze has released a second full-length album Back From the Edge in 2014 on Inner Wound Recordings as well as a Limited Edition EP Dreamwalker in 2015. The band recently toured with Saxon and Armored Saint in select areas of the US. Stay tuned for more from Sarah and MindMaze in 2016!
