Qarin Biography
Formed in June 2012, Qarin is the mash up of a few local Reno bands: En Malem Crucem, Miscreated, and Ethereal Reaping. These musicians came together with musical tastes spanning the many different sub-genres of metal. The idea conceived by this motley mashup of musicians was one of bringing those many and varying tastes in metal together into one big melting pot of epicness. They also had a secondary view and objective: to bring the passion and party back into metal. In these modern days, they believe the old gods of metal are dying off and the aggressive ambiance with them. Now is the time to return metal to the days of decadence. Qarin, in middle eastern folklore, is the Jinn every person is born with that tells them to do evil things. In essence, it is the voice of sin. Now Qarin has returned to scream the message of rebellion and hedonism back into a scene that has forgotten its own ways. The band has seen a few musician changes over the last three years. Justin Martinez (Guitar), and Mark Rodriguez (Guitar) graced the sound with their passion but parted ways amicably with the band, leaving the sound to be rounded out by Diego Martinez (Guitar). The rest of the line up still remains: Adam "The Steel Cutter" Weisshar (Bass), Theodore Poundcake (Drums), Aaron Canon (Guitar), and Divah (Vocals). Qarin has been honored to share the stage with the likes of Demon Hunter, Hemlock, Saving Alleya, Laid in Stone, Mobile Death Camp (featuring Mike Bishop, Oderus Urungus of Gwar), Hatriot (Featuring Zetro Souza of Exodus), Winds of Plague, Arkaik, Alterbeast, Arsonists Get All the Girls, Kataklysm, Macawber, Conducting from the Grave, Lord of War, The Kennedy Veil, Aborted, and many others. Qarin shows all the signs of continuing upward movement with no ceiling. The road ahead is a long battle, but they will stop at nothing to conquer all challenges. Qarin will prevail. Qarin is a 5 person metal band from Reno, NV.
