Vito and the One Eyed Jacks Biography

An eclectic mix of old-timey genres including bluegrass, country, blues, and rag time. Dark themes accompanied by bright melodies and sad overtones. Life from a perspective of a underdog either bound to loose or bound for glory. Vito was born and raised in Kent, Washington. His dad owned a butcher shop for 20 years where he lost his middle finger on his fretting hand when he was 8. Following his inspiration from Django Reinhardt, Vito taught himself how to play several instruments nonetheless. He grew up playing punk rock music, but through evolution and maturity, he currently plays old time/americana music with ranges from bluegrass to rag time jazz. The influences and sound of his project, Vito and the One Eyed Jacks, are along the lines of the Devil Makes Three and Old Crow Medicine Show. Vito writes all the material and records most of the instruments. Vito has been playing in and around Seattle for the last twelve years (including the last 3 Folklife Festivals), and is currently looking for an opportunity to expand his audience. Joining Vito and making up the Jacks are: John Trent on Dobro, Ms. Nathalie Elam provides incredible female vocals as well as a strong rhythm guitar, and Mr. Travis Morgan accompanies on the fiddle with a classic pulse raising fever.
