The Gentle Hits Biography
Ian Metzger decided that he should write some songs because that is his default art activity, or as some would argue, passion. Ian after a short time of about 3 years or so had finally finished a bunch of ideas. (the line above represents a glazing over of the deep emotional turmoil from which this art sprung forth as an attempt to jump into a light hearted bio) Armed with his belief that no one would want to hear him just play guitar and sing by himself, and the unavoidable fact that he is a pack animal, as well as "interest in groove" being factors in his decision making, he set forth to start a new band. The first to selflessly throw their lives toward helping Ian with his "ideas" is of course Andrea Metzger ( She is the man behind the curtain, except extremely beautiful, plus a woman, all the while retaining exceptional taste and unbelievable organizational abilities, she holds mastery in the art of secret piano playing as well as seeing a future beyond male shortsightedness coupled with pouting.) The next was James Mulhern ( He is held in the hearts of many as "the gentle hit". Not to mention has been known to be responsible for holding down the Guitar, Bass, Drums, Pianos, Organs, and Sample Programming, along with Soldering and cable repair. He some times taunts the other members saying "just quit, it won't really matter, i can do your job real easy pal, you're nobody, you're nobody! We'd all be upset, but he's right, I am thankful that he has less limbs.) Next was Wayne Jones ( Ian was slumping into the breakroom one evening at the local grocery store he works at only to see the Glorious Wayne Jones seated down to a beautiful vegan dinner from our frozen section, Ian looked at Wayne and said "Hey Man!" this was because Ian recognized Wayne from touring together, you see only two years before Ian witnessed Wayne playing in an extremely "bad ass" sort of fashion for another band. "It is destiny that Wayne Jones play bass in my band" thought Ian. Wayne then became the harvester of slippery grooves.) Zane Silvernail was of course next to give in (Zane Silvernail suffers from a condition called "Heart of Goldengoldedness" where he then wanders from room to room listening and smiling and playing with children, or showing respect to the elderly meanwhile holding an acoustic guitar that pours forth doves with each strum while 25 swaddled infants sleep peacefully at his feet, but they still can move around with him to each room, they don't really ever get woken up, they just sort of float like that). Finally came Mark Kulvinskas( Mark "marvstar" Kulvinskas has been there for Ian holding it down from the very beginning! He's been well known to "put a stripe in your life!" or "get some cheese on a BIG BURGER!" He also provides insurance that the drums will always be taking you, the listener, "on a slay ride"). Together we amass what is now to be known as THE GENTLE HITS Ian Metzger is a singer/songwriter working on less aloof behavior and maybe even a bit of inclusion for those of you who still want to hear an honest song.
