Tyrant

Tyrant are a Leeds based metal band. Formed in October 2010, by students and graduates of Leeds university, Tyrant have become a force to be reckoned with in the Leeds scene, playing their own brand of thrash/groove tinged with elements of progressive and melodic metal, generating fantastic receptions and great radio reviews. Their debut E.P. 'Serious Business' has already taken to the airwaves, and their music has been played on Jam Radio, Leeds Student Radio, PlanetMosh and the Wyrd Ways Rock Show. At the 'Serious Business' launch on April 19th 2012, Tyrant played a headline set to a sell-out crowd, showing just how far they have come in the year and a half since their conception. Within a few hours of coming on sale, every single copy of 'Serious Business' had been sold! With one line-up change over the summer of 2012 and another one over the summer of 2013, Tyrant returned to the stage with two new members and renewed determination, storming venues with their own-brand stage show featuring bubble cannons, machine guns, inflatable crocodiles, and a general sense of fun far beyond what many expect from the metal genre. This, coupled with musical prowess and an insane amount of drive and passion, has propelled Tyrant forwards incredibly rapidly. AND WE SHALL NOT STOP THERE. Bring on 2014 and the future journey ahead! Tyrant have main supported such bands as EVIL SCARECROW, FALLEN FATE, XERATH, FURY, VIER, EXIST IMMORTAL, and SEVERED HEAVEN, and have played alongside such bands as DYSCARNATE, BLOODSHOT DAWN, VIRUS, DETONATION, GORE, GRIEVE, DIASCORIUM, PLAGUE OF ANGELS and DREAMCATCHER. They have exploded across the Leeds rock and metal scene, building up a solid fan base and a sonic onslaught that is a blend of blistering riff-work, soaring harmonies, thunderous beats and intricate melodies, as well as a good solid helping of old-school thrash, and, erm...inflatable crocodiles. Yeah. Tyrant come ready to tear it up while having some fun, and bring the metal without too much of the cheese (but maybe a little cheese :D ) .
