Mol Sullivan Biography
Cincinnati-based singer/songwriter Mol Sullivan's songwriting speaks earnestly and with grit. Profound, cerebral, and cheeky, her lyrics are served up on a silver tray à la delicate pop melodies with a touch of vinegary twang.
Sullivan hit the ground running in 2023 releasing her first EP, A Little Hello (Ruination Record Co.), several self-directed music videos, and tour dates from coast to coast. Her first full length studio album, GOOSE, debuted earlier this year. Recorded at Foxhall Studio in Chicago, GOOSE was produced by Sima Cunningham (Finom) and feels much like a long exposure photograph of nearly 15 years of Sullivan's songwriting career, with Cunningham's ear chaperoning each song through a blush colored lens. It is simultaneously sparse and filled up with its own space. Sobriety, fractured relationships, and compassionate introspection loom large on this record that brings together Todd Rundgren style pop craftsmanship with the sweeping intimacy of Bill Callahan - both of which share a knack for turning phrases into devastating and devastatingly funny lines. Catch Sullivan live and be delighted, moved, and charmed.
