After the immense success of Folkish Explosion 2016, we return to to the incredible Victorian Gothic hall of the North of England Mining Institute, with four amazing bands from the world of punk folk, folk-rock and Americana....

See our Facebook event for more details and updates!

"I suppose you could file Driven Serious under the banner of folk-rock; but they are so much than that. They have a vibrancy that you can virtually see thrumming off them when they play, passionate and with the handbrake well and truly off, and with a vibe that has had people likening them to The Levellers to The Pogues to The Smiths to The Wonderstuff...." - The Crack

Driven Serious present to you their very own style of punk folk: fiddle, cello, guitar, bass, drums and harmonies with a gusto and genuineness you've never experienced before. Their latest EP, Ballad of Bones, will be on sale, alongside their debut album The Importance of Being Serious.

Hadrian's Union are a five piece Contemporary Folk Rock band from the debatable lands of England and Scotland.

Hadrian's Union are Stew Simpson (Guitar/Vocals), Brian Bell (Bass), Robin Jowett (Melodeon and Keys), Malcolm Bushby (Violin), David Pratt (Drums)

Hadrian's Union was formed in 2010 and signed to Fellside Records in 2013 but they now have a brand new line up with BBC Folk Award Winners Brian and Robin, Malcolm Bushby (Folkestra, Tom McConville), David Pratt (The Press Gang, Steamradio, Big Red and the Grinners, Peg Powler) and a brand new sound.

Folk/Punk-Rock band The Pastures is an up and coming group who make music about imbalances and inequalities in today's society. Their high energy performances, as well as intricate song structures and melodies, come together to form a Folky groove that will rock your face off!

The best of Yorkshire Americana.

Elli on Banjo and Vocals, and Jeff on Guitar and Vocals, bring you songs about relationships, heartbreak, trains and drinking.
