The Young Senators pioneered a new genre of music named after D.C.'s nightly musical "go-go" events at which they performed, famous for call and response plus driving beats. With their own record label and their smash single "Jungle" in 1969, The Young Senators continued to blaze trails, touring and recording with the late Eddie Kendricks of the Temptations, becoming the first ever tour band to record with a major Motown artist. After two decades, members Jimi Dougans and James Johnson have rekindled their passion for music, reloading with Edmond Harley, Vernon Burch, Jason Cook and Eddie Saules for another wild ride at Howard Theatre in Washington D.C.
