Aliases Biography

ALIASES formed in April 2010 when guitarists Pin and Leah decided that the music they had been writing together should be taken into a band context. Drummer Darren Pugh and bassist Joe Heaton were quickly brought on board. The only missing part was a vocalist and having searched high and low Parisian Jay Berast joined the band. Wasting no time, the band set to work on their debut six track EP and in July put out the rough demo track “We Should Never Have Met”, which was received with an overwhelmingly positive response online. This prompted an invitation to play at the prestigious Euroblast Festival in Cologne, Germany where the band stole the show, affirming them as a major force to be reckoned with. ” Nathan ‘Barley’ Phillips, founder of Basick Records commented: After hearing all the demos and then subsequently having my face ripped off by ALIASES’ live show at Euroblast in Germany, I just knew that we had to sign them. Not only has Pin managed to improve upon the insanity element of his former output, he’s also managed to put together a band of outstanding musicians that totally complement this interesting and complex music. So, after a few meetings and phone calls, we finally convened at the first ALIASES show in the UK and consecrated the deal over a healthy amount of Jägermeister. I’m totally stoked to have the opportunity to work with a band who are creating music for all the right reasons and I can’t wait to release their debut CD and Album!” Safer Than Reality was released on Basick Records in 2011 with the promo video for 'What's Left For Us' quickly receiving over 100,000 views on YouTube and receiving TV airplay on channels such as Scuzz TV. The band successfully toured the album with such artists as Textures, Chimp Spanner, Cyclamen, Sylosis, Devil Sold His Soul and Visions and made festival appearances. In 2012 Jay Berast had to leave the band after receving a job offer he could not refuse and would have left him unable to commit fully to the band. With large boots to fill Joe Rosser took over the frontman duties and work began on the bands first full length album. Now fully written the band are waiting to hit the studio and get this beast recorded and released!! Our album 'Derangeable' is available now! Download / Stream: http://radi.al/Derangeable
