The 2nd Annual “Cecily Salutes DC” will be coming to the Atlas Performing Arts Center on the evening of Saturday, December 3rd.

Native Washingtonian Cecily will honor musicians that were nurtured by Chocolate City, and who greatly impacted DC and the rest of the world through their art. She will intertwine her own originals with the works of Duke Ellington, Marvin Gaye, Shirley Horn, Gil Scott-Heron and others. This evening is an opportunity for Washingtonians, both natives and transplants, to come together and use music to reflect on the city’s history and it’s current changes.

Cecily says, “The intention is to give the audience and myself some time to reflect, through music and storytelling, on where we have been as a city, where we are going, and what we want to hold onto. I want to hold onto music and spaces in which it can be created and freed. Through this show I give my community an opportunity to have its stories told and its culture preserved.”

Cecily will be joined by band members: Dante Pope (music director, drummer), Zachary Cutler (guitar), Eliot Seppa (bass), Ryan Moses (keyboard), and Trinity Eubanks (supporting vocals).
