Thursday, December 8th, 2016
7:00 PM
La Purisima Mission State Historic Park
2295 Purisima Road, Lompoc, CA 93436
Founding Day, December 8, commemorates the founding of La Purisima Mission in 1787.  As in years past  Mass will be held in the church at noon. The Mass is open to the public.  In addition, the evening concert by candlelight will begin at 7:00pm.  Tickets for the concert are advance purchase only.
For the concert many lanterns lead the way to an evening of candlelight and music in the historic church of acoustical perfection well suited for the musical performance by the Cabrillo High School Madrigals.  After this delightful concert, guests are invited to La Sala to enjoy fellowship and refreshments.
Because the mission is an historic site with little electricity and many hazards, suggestions of caution and some restrictions must be noted.  Dress warmly for the unheated building and remember that both the path to the church and the floor within the church are very uneven.  For everyone's listening and viewing pleasure photography and recording are strictly prohibited.
For those requiring assistance, transport from the parking lot to the church will be available.
Tickets are advance purchase only. Tickets are available on this site for purchase by credit card.  To purchase by check, send a request noting the number of tickets you need with a check payable to Prelado de Los Tesoros, 2295 Purisima Road, Lompoc, CA 93436.  A stamped return envelope to receive your tickets will be greatly appreciated.  Tickets are also available at the mission Visitors Center or in the Tienda (Gift Shop).  Both locations accept cash or check.
Please understand the attendance is limited to ages 6 years and over. The event will go on in rain or moonshine.
Donations for the support of the educational programs, events and animal care at the mission are appreciated.
