A singer/songwriter originally from London, Marina's music crosses a number of genres. It has been described as acoustic, Americana, Blues, Country and folk but while it doubtless draws inspiration from all these sources her voice and style are uniquely and identifiably hers.

She has been compared to some of the best vocalists in the music world from Stevie Nicks to Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash to Nanci Griffiths, Patsy Cline and more.

Marina came to performing late in life. However very soon after making the decision to 'come out of the kitchen' to widen her audience she was awarded Arts Council funding, via the Escalator Project, to record her debut album 'Somewhere Down The Line'. Using this as a platform she has since reached audiences never previously thought possible.

'This,That & The Other' is Marina's latest album: self-produced and recorded, she has come a long way from taking her first tentative steps.

The self-penned song 'Cry' won the Oldies Composers Competition judged by BBC Radio 2 presenters including Ken Bruce, Bob Harris, Johnny Walker and the late Sir Terry Wogan. This resulted in Anthony Head singing the song live on ITV's This Morning, and the song gained widespread airplay on numerous radio stations including the BBC.

Soundcloud nominated Marina Florance 'Soundclouder Of The Day' in 2014 and this has resulted in thousands of plays on her Soundcloud profile (https://soundcloud.com/marinaflorance) from where you can stream all of her music..

Marina is currently working with The Warm and Toasty Club (http://thewarmandtoastyclub.weebly.com) having been commissioned to write three songs, a wonderfully inspirational project focussed on the residents of retirement complexes.

"...Not many artists make me listen to, not just the words, but the sound of those words, I mean every 's' & every 't'. An incredibly smooth, real, natural voice & talent. Beautiful."

Glenn Maltman Fresh On The Net.

She has a voice like chocolate.
