Jamboree Jazz Club
UNA stems from strength, delicacy and close cooperation between five women. It is an unusual line-up: a string quartet with two violas and a voice that tells stories. The voice, full of beauty and sensuality, sings while the quartet accompanies it, painting with its words. The live performances are full of surprising contrasts and captivating intensity and emotivity, exuding joy and tenderness. The arrangements are original and rich in rhythmic strength, elegance and sensitivity. The repertoire includes their own songs and others from all around the world as they include anything that excites them: songs by Chico Buarque, traditional music from Argentina and Brazil, poems set to music and their own compositions. The members of UNA are from Catalonia, Argentina and France. They form part of groups like Coetus and Carles Dénia i la Nova Rimaire, and the five of them have coincided in Cordes del Món. Curiosity for different musical styles has led them to play jazz, flamenco, tango, classical music, roots music and pop-rock. At individual level they have made many recordings and worked with groups and artists as different as Guillermo Klein, Gorka Benítez, Joan Manuel Serrat, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Virus String Quartet, OBC, the Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Vallès Symphony Orchestra, Carnegie Mellon Philarmonic de Pittsburgh, Sabor de Gràcia, Mishima, Facto Delafé, Dorian and others. They have collaborated on dance, circus and theatre shows and have recorded for advertising, soundtracks and documentaries.
