The Pleasure Victims Biography

Bassist, keyboardist, singer-story teller, Nigel L'Amour wasn't from around these parts... Looking for a band to join or a writing partner who played guitar, to finish up some song ideas and write new material, he found Arizona native, Cody James at an open mic night in Glendale. "You're really good, mate. We'll write some songs together, yes?", Nigel insinuated, masking the fact that he was super impressed with the guitarist's talent. So they did, but they needed a drummer. Through an obscure online musicians forum, they found a funk-pop percussionist and arrangement extraordinaire, The amazing Randilite! They dabbled a bit with shared vocals between the trio, but it seemed their desire was for a front person with power, passion, and a larger than life persona to bring their songs to life. A friend of a friend said, "You need a singer like Ginger Fields, if you really want this to work." "OK, but who is Ginger Fields?"... Long story short, they didn't need a singer "like" her, but rather they needed HER! They found some video and tracks from a previous project and liked it, so they caught a set at a seedy venue in Mesa one Tuesday night. Rather than running up to her and asking her, they played it cool and waited. They found her on facebook, sent a message and waited... She responded about two weeks later, but she was in Spain. They met up for drinks upon her return and agreed that the line-up could indeed work. She reviewed the material and fell in love with it, but thought she might be able to squeeze in some ideas to make it work for her as well. They gave her 25% and she took 35 instead. Ladies and gentlemen, for the love of all things pleasurable, may I introduce, The Pleasure Victims!
