Contender for the stand out 'up and coming' act of 2016 has to be Lauren Housley. After playing 2 compelling shows at last year's Bluesfest at the O2 Arena, Lauren and her stellar band have been invited to return for this year's festival to play a headline slot at Brooklyn Bowl. Lauren's unique blend of 'Nashville' flavoured soul marks out as very much the 'one to watch' this coming year, as evidenced by both Live Nation and Radio 2 support for this 'overnight success', some years in the making.

Lauren's debut album 'Sweet Surrender' is an all killer, no filler, affair with a number of tracks already either playlisted or on prime spot play at Radio 2 by the likes of Chris Evans, Terry Wogan, Jeremy Vine, Bob Harris, Robert Elms etc, all of whom know a good tune when they hear one.

Lauren will continue to attract a legion of supporters, industry and otherwise, from the 'world of blues' by dint of her emotive vocals, steeped in gospel/blues/soul phrasing, and her honest, sincere and personal song writing. Singing and songwriting of such standard, that her music will in fact be equally appealing to mainstream audiences too, as indeed proved by her current Radio support.

This performance will be a rare opportunity to see Lauren perform her songs in an intimate trio line-up. Featuring Thomas Dibb (guitar/piano) and Mark Lewis (bass/guitar), complete with a beautiful blend of voices in 3-part harmony.

"Sweet Surrender" smoulders. Lauren Housley is as convincing as they come." Q magazine

"Absolutely monumental" Robert Elms, BBC Radio London

"Few debut albums are as outrageously assured as 'Sweet Surrender', a blend of material both thrilling and tender, propelled by a voice that stirs and soothes". R2 Magazine

"A future superstar"
