The Crookes Biography
For all of those ignorant stonkers out there, there are three groups called The Crooks. The first is a mod revival group from London, England. After the enormous success of the Jam, The Crooks, like the Chords and Secret Affair, picked up a parka, italian suit, and a vespa and played lively, vigorous songs, equally inspired by their contemporaries and other old mod groups, like the Kinks and Small Faces, for instance.
Here is the second group:
The Crooks is a dutch 5-head band since 2004. They play Rock & Roll and 've been best friends since then.
The bassist, Willem de Witte, and the rythm guitarist, Tycho Barnard, already have a history with bands. They preformed also in the Blink 182 coverband Lost Car.
Later on they found the drummer, Hendrik vd Hurk, and solo guitarist, Sander and founded The Crooks. After a great search they found there last gap enclosure, singer Thomas Kuijpers, former singer of punk rock band Krapdumb. Since then they've won several prizes in and around Helmond, and shared the stage with several great names such as 'Dog eat Dog', 'Peter Pan Speedrock', 'El Guapo Stuntteam' and the 'Mad Caddies'. They brought out a "Dirty Demo" with songs like "The Highway" and "Rockadoodle" in 2005. In 2007 they released an EP called 'Red', and they're currently working on a full-length album that will be released later this year.
The third group is a 4-piece new wave dirty rock group out of Roseville, Minnesota.
