Dear Rabbit Biography
With their brand new 2019 album SHY (number four in the catalog), Dear Rabbit shows no signs of quitting any time soon. DR's previous 2016 effort, They're Not Like You, was the first one to receive the acclaim that truly excited front man Rence, drawing comparisons to a New York sound and indy rawk beyond -- Lou Reed, Jonathan Richman, Silver Jews, Daniel Johnston, Roky Erickson, Iggy Pop, etc. The '18 SHY carries on that attitude with 16 brand new tunes, drawing from Rence's "varied influences, such as Guided By Voices, Sparklehorse, Prince and XTC, adding immediacy and a visceral power to the songs." (Collin Estes, CS Indy)
Over the last seven years, Dear Rabbit has shared heartfelt performances of their songs across various stages, sweaty basements, intimate living rooms, warehouse spaces, beer soaked dive bars and beyond, throughout 48 states and six Canadian provinces to date. Performing at Treefort Music Fests '18, '21, and '22 stands as perhaps the greatest honor in all of Dear Rabbit's career. Stay tuned for what we have in 2023!
