From gritty honky-tonk to heart-breaking balladry, Blue Cactus is the one stop shop for everything that made country music matter.2pm – Michael RankWith both Snatches of Pink and Stag now in the rearview mirror Michael Rank drives a 70’s soundtrack set to lo-fi beats.3pm – The OutboardsThe Outboards split the difference between understated pub-rock and late ’70s guitar rock, while hints of German and Southern psychedelics suggest genre fluidity.4pm – Happy AbandonIdentified as lush indie rock, Happy Abandon conveys bold and intimate lyrical nuances through complex rhythms, evocative melodies, rushing strings, dreamy whistles, and fiery howls.5pm – Vagabond UnionThe Vagabond Union is an Alternative Americana/Rock band whose salt-of-the-earth songwriting style is fueled by truth, guts, the American dream, and hard luck stories.6pm – Bad BalloonDreamy Indie-pop from seasoned vets of the Triangle music scene.7pm – TransportationTransportation is a rock trio that writes good, catchy stuff, along the lines of the Lemonheads or Bob Mould since forming in 1997. They usually pull the old switcheroo a few times during their show, which changes the sound somewhat so it’s kinda like seeing an extra band or two.8pm – PipePipe has been plowing audiences with their gritty garage punk & rock-n-roll energy since 1991.9pm – ColossusStarted in 2005 this New Wave of British Heavy Metal influenced group shares its inspiration from artist such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, and Scorpions.
