Dry County Biography

Refusing to be restricted by what today’s country radio showcases, Dry County has returned to put the whiskey back into country music..........and HELL HAS COME WITH THEM!!!!!!! Originally formed in 1998 after shared decades on the bar and festival circuit, Dry County established itself as a high energy act infusing new country with southern rock. Their 2002 self-titled debut CD landed 5 songs on over 50 radio stations nationwide and have been included in live to air interviews as feature artists. Their controversial 2005 release, "Waitin’ On Hank", received huge attention from all over the world and landed 4 singles on major market radio giving Dry County massive exposure and even catching the attention of UFC super heavy weight, "The Texas Crazy Horse" Heath Herring, who used Dry County’s title track as his official entrance music at UFC 87 in his fight with Brock Lesnar in 2008. Backed by their legions of fans (known now as ’The Redneck Mafia’), and landing multiple sponsorships (including Taye Drums, Yamaha Keyboards and Budweiser to name a few), Dry County released the long awaited "Cowboy Up" album in April 2010 selling thousands of copies in just the first 2 weeks and thousands more via iTunes downloads landing them a "People’s Choice Award" for Group of the Year at the Hamilton Music Awards in November 2010. 2011 continued to bring Dry County major exposure by landing supporting roles for country music mega stars: Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean, Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry, Lonestar, Martina Mcbride, Blake Shelton and Craig Morgan. 2012 was bitter sweet for Dry County as even though they were continually in the ITUNES top 200 and were featured on the MTV hit reality series BUCKWILD, vocalist Jeff Gallagher underwent a series of surgeries which kept the boys shelved for most of 2013 and 2014. After some serious soul seaching and reflection on the past 18 years, on March 17th 2016, Dry County released their first album in 6 years titled "Hell Or High Water". Not knowing what to expect after a 6 year hiatus,( and realizing the drastic change to the sound of popular country music), Dry County once again, defiantly beat the odds by peaking at #12 for all country albums sales in the Canadian iTunes Charts in April of 2016. With a new energy and the same rebellious attitude, Dry County is once again HELL BENT to show the country music industry, why they are STILL, the BADDEST BAND in country music. Where AC/DC meets Alabama. http://www.itunes.com/drycounty
