Van Django, Vancouver's hottest swing string quartet, bring their sizzling hot Gypsy Jazz Christmas show to Victoria this December!   They'll be joined by harmonica virtuoso Keith Bennett, stellar vocalist L.J. Mounteney and Victoria's own award winning multi-instrumentalist wunder kind Quinn Bachand!  It's the perfect answer to winter chill, so come share some hot and swinging Christmas cheer with Van Django & Co. this year!
Van Django's music is punchy, driving and rhythmically inventive, combining a wealth of musical influences while maintaining strong roots in the gypsy jazz made famous by Django Reinhardt and the 1930's Quintet of the Hot Club of France. On stage, "they effortlessly whip the audience into a joyful frenzy.
Renowned both for the quality of their musicianship and as great entertainers, Van Django's variety show is a merry Christmas mix of nostalgic favourites, jazz standards, sing-alongs, pop tunes, some classical touches, and a few surprises - all delivered in their swinging gypsy jazz style. Folks of all ages can celebrate the season at this fun and festive yule-time show.
Joining Van Django's violinist Cameron Wilson, guitarist Budge Schachte, guitarist/cellist Finn Manniche and bassist Brent Gubbels is harmonica virtuoso Keith Bennett, stellar vocalist L.J. Mounteney and Victoria's own young prodigy Quinn Bachand.
A big success when they first performed the show in Victoria lat year, we are looking forward to having them back in 2016!  Everyone had such a great time at last year's first-ever concert of Van Django Bells, it was a natural decision to bring them back!  Folks loved the mix of music and the feel-good vibes - it's a show that just hits all the right notes at Christmas. Hear everything from the evocative I'll Be Home for Christmas to Let it Snow, Santa Baby and Silver Bells to Ave Maria, a bit of Beethoven, and so much more - with something every ear, heart, and tapping foot will enjoy, so bring the entire family for an evening of hot swing Christmas music and cheer!
