John Lawton

Music has always been a part of John Lawton's life. He started playing Piano at age 8, Saxophone at age 10, and Guitar at age 12. While studying Piano and Saxophone classically, John taught himself Guitar after hearing The Greatest Hits of Stevie Ray Vaughan. He immediately connected the guitar as an outlet for emotion. After playing in a friends band "Fish In The Sand" and creating a guitar duo"Electric Vacancy" that didn't last long he struck out as a solo act in November 2010. "But the reality is when you write a song, you should be able to strip away all the instruments and just have a song right there with an acoustic guitar and a voice, and the song should be good."
