Since its inception over 25 years ago, Ensemble Vivant has been a pioneer in the piano chamber music world, championing exciting, innovative programming ranging from classical and Pops to Latin and other jazz styles. Led by pianist/artistic director Catherine Wilson, Ensemble Vivant is also known for its depth of artistry, passionate, virtuosic interpretations and engaging stage presence.

Pioneering tour-de-force Ensemble Vivant’s innovative genre-diverse programming is rich with passionate, deeply communicative playing that touches the hearts and souls of listeners of all ages. Ensemble Vivant are Opening Day recording artists with 15 internationally acclaimed CDs including the latest release “iFugue – A World of Fugues”.

Ensemble Vivant’s LIVE and VIRTUAL invaluable music education/performance programs for children (endorsed by the scientific community) are conducted through the not-for-profit registered charity Euterpe: Music Is The Key (www.musicisthekey.org). Euterpe’s vitally important work was awarded a 3-year Ontario Trillium grant (2020) and a Canada Council Grant (2021). Euterpe is creating a series of 30 music education videos that are available to all schools in Canada. Six videos in the series have already been produced.
