Precise vocal control, clear diction, intelligent musicality and an ability to get to the heart of everything he sings ensures Christoph Prégardien’s place among the world’s foremost lyric tenors. Especially revered as a Lieder singer, he can be heard this season at the Wigmore Hall London, Casa da Música Porto, Aula Magna in Rome, Philharmonic Hall Warszawa, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Konzerthaus Berlin, the new Musikforum Ruhr in Bochum and the Kölner Philharmonie. He will also perform at renowned festivals such as the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg Hohenems, Oxford Lieder Festival, Wimbledon International Festival and the Dresden Music Festival. Following the success of his conducting debut with J. S. Bach’s St. John’s Passion with the ensemble Le Concert Lorrain (LCL) and the Nederlands Kamerkoor in 2012 and 2013, Christoph Prégardien again led LCL and the Balthasar-Neumann Choir in 2015 with the St. Matthew’s Passion in Paris, Luxembourg, Lucerne, Metz, Antwerp and Oslo a. o.. In 2016 the LCL will perform Bach’s Christmas Oratorio under Christoph Prégardien’s baton in Metz and Santander.
