SAVVY ONE ENTERTAINMENT Concert Series is at it once again. In October of 2015 we brought you the Legendary Paul Tayor. On April 9th 2016 we brought you Ted T. j. Johnson with his outstanding performance of CLASSIC SOUL I. And now, we are closing this year out with a hugh bang by bringing one of WNUA's Smooth Jazz All-Stars to Park Forest, IL, SLIM MAN of Bona Fide. SLIM MAN born Timoteo Camponeschi, was 5 years old, his father showed him a movie. That film was 'The Five Pennies', starring Danny Kaye and Louis Armstrong. When Young Slim saw Satchmo play and sing, he told his Dad..."That's what I want to do." SLIM MAN studied trumpet for the next 9 years, and also taught himself how to play piano and guitar. After studying classical piano, composition and harmony at Peabody Institute of Music in Baltimore, MD, SLIM MAN got signed as a songwriter for Motown Records. He had songs recorded by the Temptations, Angela Bofill, and other artists. In the late 90s, SLIM MAN started a band, BONA FIDE, an instrumental group whose combination of funk and jazz brought forth the Number One single 'X Ray Hip'. BONA FIDE also received the Best New Artist Award at the Smooth Jazz Awards. BONA FIDE has released 3 CDs, the last being 'Soul Lounge' (2005). Opening the show and evening for SLIM MAN is Chicago's own beautiful and talented Saxophonist D' Erania as she performs selections from her new CD released in July of 2016 called "Language Of The Heart".
