Mercury on Mars Biography
Mercury On Mars combines elements of post-punk, power-pop, and psych, with supersonic attack, catchy hooks, and a monstrous rhythm section. The focus is (always has been) on the song and every song is pure rock ’n’ roll. The band participated in the 2015 WZLX & Boston Emissions Rock ’N’ Roll Rumble with guitarist Johnny DiCenso, drummer Paul Reynolds, bassist Dave Scott, and founder/guitarist Steve Fay. Steve emerged from the early 1980’s Green Bay punk rock scene sharing stages with Hüsker Dü, The Replacements, Black Flag, and the Dead Kennedy’s, while playing with his band No Response. Several bands and a move to Boston later, Steve has never stopped writing and playing, at one point fronting the garage-punk band, The Radio Knives (Dionysus Records). Steve got together with Johnny (The Deliriants), Paul (Radio Knives; Radar Eyes), and Dave (Glam-Rock Heavies; Cheap Leather) and Mercury On Mars was born. Mercury On Mars is a supersonic attack, with catchy hooks and a monstrous rhythm section. mercuryonmars.bandcamp.com
