Davies Symphony Hall
201 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA 94102
Seven-time Grammy-winning pianist Emanuel Ax joins the San Francisco Symphony in performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 22. As an Avery Fisher Prize-winning soloist and the longtime duo recital partner of Yo-Yo Ma, Ax has inspired a legion of fans known as "Manny Ax's Maniax." He's sure to bring his "thoughtful, lyrical [and] lustrous" ("The Washington Post") playing to this joyous piece. This concert at Davies Symphony Hall, conducted by Charles Dutoit, culminates with one of Debussy's most loved and influential pieces, "La Mer", an evocative ode to the composer's childhood love for the sea.
