Sons of Alpha Centauri (Official) Biography
Artist Biography by Chris True (Allmusic) Originally a duo formed in the summer of 2001, Sons of Alpha Centauri are an avant-garde post-metal alternative rock group based in the Thames Gateway Swale area of London. Founding members Nick Hannon (bass) and Marlon King (guitar) conceived the instrumental project. The band has been a rather inclusive project, working and collaborating with a handful of outsiders, including a 2005 -2007 project on all of the art associated with the debut album with Australian artist Seldon Hunt. UK label Sound Devastation Records released their debut album in 2007 mastered by James Plotkin. Soon after finishing the tour cycle of the debut album the band commenced working with instrumental legends Karma to Burn and commenced a collaborative album Last Day of Summer released on Underdogma Records in 2009. A series of split 7” vinyls between SOAC and KTB were released by H42 Records over 2010 to 2017 culminating in an exclusive boxset entitled The Definitive Trilogy. Collaborative project Yawning Sons, which features the Sons of Alpha Centauri's King, Hannon, and Stevie B. along with guitarist Gary Arce and Mario from Yawning Man saw the release of now cult classic album Ceremony to the Sunset released on both Lexicon Devil and Alone Records in Spain.
